How To Restart Parallels For Mac
In Part 1 of the Parallels Mac Management for SCCM series I installed the Parallels Configuration Manager Console Extension. I installed this on my site server ‘ConfigMgr’. Part 2 focused on the installation of the Parallels Proxy which I installed on a remote server called ‘Parallels’ which I intend to use to install the Parallels roles. Part 3 of the series concluded the ‘role. I am running Quicken on Parallels on my Mac. Quicken has frozen and the whole Windows XP is frozen. I can restart Parallels to no avail but not Windows. I recently tried different keystrokes to regain control of my mouse/keyboard from parallels, and I pressed something that cause my Mac to start shutting down. It didn't prompt me to confirm that I wanted to shutdown my Mac, it just started closing applications for the shutdown.
Question is there a way to require that the use respond to a confirmation dialog before shutting down / restarting their Mac?
Additional info- I was multi-tasking at the time, setting up a Linux KVM host , a Raspberry Pi image , among other things. I almost lost all of my work so I would like to put in a safeguard against accidentally restarting my Mac.

More than likely, you hit Control⌘ Command and the ⦿ Power button .
That's the only keyboard combination that will force restart a Mac without asking you to save unsaved documents. The only other way to shut down a Mac without it prompting you is to hold the ⦿ Button for 5 seconds.

There are key combinations that already exist with confirmations:

A large number of Mac users install Windows on Mac to run apps and games that are exclusively available for Windows. While it’s possible to install Windows on Mac using virtual software such as VirtualBox and Parallels Desktop, users who don’t like to compromise on performance prefer using the official Boot Camp assistant software to run Windows on Mac.

Once installed, BootChamp sits in the menu bar and provides an easy way to restart into Windows. The first time you use BootChamp to restart into Windows, you’ll be asked enter your admin password. After this, however, you don’ t need to type the password.
The only downside is that BootChamp doesn’t ask you confirm the action when you click Restart into Windows. That is, if you accidently click Restart into Windows option, BootChamp will boot take you into Windows.
